What You Need

pkg. (2-layer size) chocolate cake mix

pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding

cup cold milk

1/2

cup PLANTERS Creamy Peanut Butter

1/2

cup PLANTERS Dry Roasted Peanuts

oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted

1-1/2

cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

PREPARE cake batter and bake as directed on package for 2 (9-inch) round cake layers. Cool in pans 10 min.; remove to wire racks. Cool completely. Meanwhile, beat pudding mix and milk with whisk 2 min. Add peanut butter; mix well. Refrigerate until ready to use.

MIX nuts and melted chocolate until nuts are evenly coated. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper-covered baking sheet. Refrigerate 10 min. or until firm.

STACK cake layers on plate, filling with 1 cup pudding mixture. Gently stir COOL WHIP into remaining pudding mixture. Spread over top and side of cake. Decorate with chocolate-nut clusters.

How to Melt Chocolate

Microwave chocolate in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min. 10 sec., stirring after 30 sec. (The chocolate will retain its shape.) Stir until chocolate is completely melted.

Make this for work for potlucks. Everyone loves this one. I omit the choc. covered peanuts on top because I'm not a nut fan. The icing is just a little time consuming to make but still good.

A great tasting dessert with an even better presentation. All the guests where very impressed. The only note would be to chill the cool whip pudding mixture before "icing" the cake.

I made this for work and didn't have any left over to bring home. I did add mini semi-sweet chips to the batter for a little something extra (about 1/3 cup to each pan). Also, I forgot to thaw the Cool Whip, so my frosting did not set up well as I think it was stirred too much. I ended up using the peanut clusters to decorate the bottom edge of the cake (they kept sliding off the top and down the sides), but the cake still looked nice in the end. I would make this again.

Umm Chocolate & peanut butter best of both very great. I'm a working mom who just bought a bag of peanut clusters and it still looked pretty!

The amount of filling/icing was not near enough. Next time I will double that part of the recipe.

A beautiful, very rich cake. Easy to make. I didn't get enough chocolate clusters out of the suggested 2 squares baking chocolate. Double the peanuts and baking squares and you can have the same great look as pictured.
