What You Need

pkg. (2-layer size) chocolate cake mix

pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding

cup cold milk

1/2

cup PLANTERS Creamy Peanut Butter

1/2

cup PLANTERS Dry Roasted Peanuts

oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted

1-1/2

cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

PREPARE cake batter and bake as directed on package for 2 (9-inch) round cake layers. Cool in pans 10 min.; remove to wire racks. Cool completely. Meanwhile, beat pudding mix and milk with whisk 2 min. Add peanut butter; mix well. Refrigerate until ready to use.

MIX nuts and melted chocolate until nuts are evenly coated. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper-covered baking sheet. Refrigerate 10 min. or until firm.

STACK cake layers on plate, filling with 1 cup pudding mixture. Gently stir COOL WHIP into remaining pudding mixture. Spread over top and side of cake. Decorate with chocolate-nut clusters.

How to Melt Chocolate

Microwave chocolate in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min. 10 sec., stirring after 30 sec. (The chocolate will retain its shape.) Stir until chocolate is completely melted.

Made the cake as a birthday cake. Everyone asked for seconds. Good combination - chocolate and peanut butter. Will definitely make again.

I loved this cake! I didn't make the peanut clusters, but it was sooo good without them. If you like peanut butter, definately make this recipe.

I made this cake for my friend's birthday party since most of our friends love peanut butter.. I think everyone loved it! I used yellow cake mix instead but would probably use the chocolate next time. It was pretty rich but very delcious and I would make it again.

I was really surprised how much people liked this recipe, because it was so simple. I used whipped cream instead of cool whip, and I don't think it made a difference; it was still good and the consistency worked well to ice the cake. I think the main thing to consider when making this cake is the cake mix you use. The moister, the better. Very good!

OH MY GOSH! My two favorites combined to make the best cake ever! The first time I made it, my friends demanded I make more of the icing to be eaten alone. Absolutely delish!

This was a huge hit at my birthday party. The frosting is out of this world. I couldn't quite get it as pretty as the picture, but when it tastes this good. Who CARES?!

This cake is simply delicious, yet very easy to make! The peanut butter frosting is very creamy and is a perfect pairing with the chocolate cake!I made this cake for a birthday party, but would work for any occasion!

This will be one of my most popular cakes to make. I made one last nite and brought it to work for a colleagues BDay and got RAVE reviews!!! Delicious and rather simple!!
