The chicken stew came out tasty. I didn't have dressing but I used a couple tablespoons of olive oil and a tablespoon of italian seasoning. I also ended up adding 1 cup of water as there was not enough sauce to boil. I added chicken seasoning too. I used fresh carrots and garlic. I think next time I'll omit the potatoes and serve over rice, toast or noodles.
Excellent winter comfort food! I seasoned the chicken with salt & pepper, garlic and onion powder and a little celery seed, used cream of chicken and cream of celery soup and added some milk for consistency. I used mixed veggies and a little bit of fresh carrots and celery. I used ranch dressing instead of Italian worked great. With fresh baked biscuits, what a treat!
I made this for dinner last night and it was very good. I marinated the chicken in the Italian dressing and browned it that way, I used 1 can of cream of mushroom and 1 can of cream of chicken soup. I also cut up the potatoes in smaller pieces and used mixed vegtables. Next time I am going to use fresh carrots and maybe celery. Was very good - not to bland at all.
This was very tasty! I doubled the recipe, added a bit of milk to thin it out some, and it was really great. I also seasoned the chicken up while it was cooking. Next time I might add some white wine before adding the soup. I will definitely make this one again!
This was really good and filling. Great for a night when you want some comfort food but don't have a lot of time. Whole family loved it.
This is a great, quick recipe! Next time, I'll probably add more veggies, but otherwise will follow the recipe again.
I took the advice of others that said it was bland. I added a can of French onion soup and some pepper. It turned out great!
My husband and I LOVED this recipe!! I tweaked it a bit, adding a little more dressing and water, using mixed vegetables with green beans and corn as well as carrots and peas, and adding pepper as well. It was delicious! I cooked it a little longer than directed too. Can't wait to make this again!
I make this quite a few times a year. I don't add the Italian dressing. I put it in a 9x13 pan and then cover it with pie crust. It is my secret recipe for chicken pot pie. Everyone constantly asks for my recipe. I love it!
instead of using italian dressing i used french because that's what i had at home. was very yummy!
