  • Heat 1 Tbsp. oil in Dutch oven or large deep skillet on medium-high heat. Add meat; cook and stir 4 to 5 min. or until evenly browned. Remove meat from pan; cover to keep warm.
  • Add onions, peppers and remaining oil to pan; cook 2 to 3 min. or until vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring frequently. Stir in broth and meat; bring to boil. Cover; simmer on medium-low heat 1 hour or until meat is tender. Stir in steak sauce.
  • Serve over rice.

Substitute

Prepare using boneless beef chuck steak.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I made this last night, I have no idea what I was expecting but it was not what I got. I made this last night, I have no idea what I was expecting but it was not what I got. I thought this dish was very bad. I have no idea why other people gave it such rave reviews. But if you feel you must make this, then at least do not cook the onions and green peppers the whole 1 Hour, (the meat needed 1 hr.) they get so mushy, put them in towards the end.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This recipe was not at all what I expected. This recipe was not at all what I expected. I am a huge fan of A1, but this just didnt seem to have much flavor. I followed the recipe exactly. Maybe one day down the road I will give it a second try, but probably not. As of right now, my family just left the dinner table from eating this and are now going to order a pizza. Good luck!

Also, I doubled the amount of A-1; Needless to say my family loved this recipe, my 4 year old asked for seconds. Great recipe, will definately do it at least once a month as a special treat for the family

I reviewing all of my grandmothers and aunts swedish recipes and they are numerous, gravlox, meatballs, pancakes, etc., have I ever come across any one of them calling for A-1 steak sauce. Somebody better change the name

I made this recipe for my family and they absolutely loved it, however I did make one slight change I added mushrooms to the recipe. I would definitely make this again as it was very easy to make and my family loved it!

Even though I liked the flavor and the meat was tender, I was left with a small amount of meat because It cooked for a long time in a small amount of liquid. I do not recommend cooking the veggies before hand.
