Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made an account just to review this. I made an account just to review this. I LOVE this recipe. I've made it so many times and it's always amazing. I use Boca in place of real meat, add some whole tomatoes, add some other spices (parsley, basil, oregano, sriracha, garlic powder), and I melt a slice of american cheese in right as it's finished. But even made as prepared it's really good. I don't think I'll ever be able to make pasta the "normal" way again.

I used a lot of comments from other folks and made the following changes: Cooked the pasta separately, used no water at all, added black olives with the other vegetables, and sprinkled some of the following seasonings on the meat mixture after it had finished browning - garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, oregano, parsley and basil. The final result was really good. I used the colored rotini to make it look even prettier. I ended up not using as much pasta as it called for, but that all depends on how pasta-heavy you like it. Very easy and very tasty!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a very good recipe! This is a very good recipe!!!!! The one thong I liked the most was that the noodles were cooking with the spaghetti sauce and no draining required!!!!!!! This was a very wonderful meal!!!! My husband loved it and my kids ate it in no time! My almost 5 year old son ate 3 plates of this!!!! All in all, this was great. For those of you that say "it needs salt," you are supposed to add it when you are cooking the ground beef and onions. I also used elbow macaroni! Thanks, Kraft, for such a great recipe!!!

I read the reviews ahead of time and they were right: it does need some help on flavor, a bit of garlic and pepper did it for me. Other than that this dish was everything I expected! Delicious, perfect amount for my boyfriend and I to fill up and both have leftovers for lunch! If you feed more than two and want leftovers, I suggest doubling the portions, and also making it in a larger stew pot is a little easier in avoiding messes with the sauce. This one's definitely going in my family recipe book!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was very easy to make and took no time at all. This was very easy to make and took no time at all. I had all the ingredients I needed already. I did not add the red pepper and mushrooms because my 2 children would have just picked them out, anyway. It didn't matter, the pasta was cooked perfectly and tasted so much better than the "helper" we usually buy. I might add a little more spicing next time I make it, but I will defintely be making this again. My kids loved it (even the onions!).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like this recipe because I don't have to cook the pasta....I hate cooking pasta! I like this recipe because I don't have to cook the pasta....I hate cooking pasta! I doubled the recipe and held back one cup of water, so I could add a can of petite diced tomatos and one can of drained Rotel. For a different look, I used one package of Rotini pasta and one package of Penne Rigate pasta. We thought the juice that remained after cooking was great! It was thick enough for garlic bread dipping! Yummy!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a wonderful basic idea. This is a wonderful basic idea. We did not have the peppers on hand and my one child hates mushrooms so I used extra onions and lean loose country sausage. I also used a dutch oven as it did not fit in my biggest skilllet. It was great, I am thinking about useing chicken next time. I will have to double the recipe, everyone including my picky youngest asked for seconds. It is quick, frugal, healthy, and good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soooo good! Soooo good! I used a spicy red pepper sauce, did not add fresh red peppers, but doubled the mushrooms. & I used ground turkey instead of beef, I also added some Italian seasonings while cooking the meat. Since others said it was too runny, I just started w/ 2 cups of water && added water as needed (worked out great!) It was SO GOOD - my husband loves it too! I will definitely make this again soon!
