Amazing Peanut Butter-Chocolate Molten Cake

  • Heat oven to 425°F.
  • Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 to 1-1/2 min. or until chocolate is almost melted. Stir with whisk until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in powdered sugar. Blend in whole eggs and egg yolks. Stir in flour; set aside. Mix cream cheese, peanut butter, brown sugar and vanilla until well blended.
  • Pour half the chocolate batter into 1-qt. souffle dish sprayed with cooking spray; cover with layers of cream cheese mixture and remaining chocolate batter.
  • Bake 20 min. or until edge is set but center is still slightly soft. Cool slightly. Serve topped with COOL WHIP.

One serving, 1/2 cup, of this indulgent cake goes a long way on flavor!

Variation

Prepare and layer batters as directed, substituting 7 (3/4-cup) custard cups for the souffle dish. Place filled custard cups on baking sheet; bake at 425°F 13 to 14 min. or until edges are set but centers are still slightly soft. Continue as directed. Makes 7 servings.

Substitute

Substitute a 1-qt. casserole for the souffle dish.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I had to bake it for longer than recommended. I had to bake it for longer than recommended. It came out the first time as a pudding-like mixture with only a small edge ring cake-like. I put it back in the oven for another 6 minutes and it was much better. I did not like it with the Cool Whip on top even though I normally like Cool Whip. I found it to be too rich for my tastes and talked my friend into taking the leftovers for her family.

There was something in it that wasn't quite sweet enough that we couldn't put our finger on. Maybe will try adding a Tbsp. of sugar to the chocolate portion next time. Mmmmmm ... making me want to go get the leftovers out of my fridge and heat some up right now!

I went back through the recipe, yes I used everything on the list and I followed the instructions down to the letter. If there were a "yuk!!" category on the review scale, that's where you would find my check mark.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Let me start by saying it was pretty ah-mazing. Let me start by saying it was pretty ah-mazing. My entire family loved it, especially my aunt, whom hates peanut butter. One thing i did different with the recipe was i mixed the cool whip with the peanut butter mixture, and it turned out outstanding! My grandma said if she were to get married again she would have it at her wedding.

It was a big hit and I plan on making it again...it is best served 10 minutes out of the oven...but don't be fooled, it is still plenty enjoyable after it's cooled down. A very rich, but very tasty dessert!

Don't over cook it though because the middle is SUPPOSED to be creamy and pudding like. It's an amazingly rich dessert so if you aren't serving chocolate lovers then I would suggest picking another item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Absolutely delicious. Absolutely delicious. It was easy and tasted like a dessert you would find in an upscale restaurant. It was even better after it was chilled in the fridge and then microwaved to reheat. Can someone come up with a low cal version of this recipe?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious! Delicious! Followed the directions exactly and it was perfect. Guests loved it and all went back for seconds! Very rich, so a little does go a long way. Served with vanilla ice cream - amazing! Still tasted good the next day, slightly warmed.
