Apple and Cheddar Strata

I made this along with many other Kraft Recipes for hosting my 1st Easter Brunch. This dish was delicious! Everyone loved it and couldn't belive how easy it was to make!

What You Need

slices  day-old white bread, crusts removed, divided
1
lb.  pork sausage, crumbled, cooked and drained

 apples, cored, thinly sliced

lb.  (12 oz.) HOFFMAN'S SUPER-SHARP Pasteurized Process Cheddar Cheese, cut into 12 slices

 eggs

cups  milk
1/8
tsp.  ground black pepper
1/8
tsp.  ground nutmeg
1/8
tsp.  ground red pepper

Make It

PLACE 6 of the bread slices in 13x9-inch baking pan sprayed with cooking spray. Cover with layers of half each of the sausage, apples and process cheese. Repeat layers.

BEAT eggs, milk and seasonings with wire whisk until well blended. Pour over process cheese slices. Gently press remaining 6 bread slices into liquid to completely cover bread slices; cover. Refrigerate several hours or overnight.

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Bake 50 min. to 1 hour or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 min. before cutting to serve.
