I prepare a very similar recipe which my husband lovingly calls 'Cabbage Apple Salad.' As an insulin-dependent diabetic my recipe uses 1 packet of artificial sweetener and skim milk instead of honey. I also include whole celery seed for a yummy taste. Right before serving I stir in chopped walnuts. This salad is always well received at potlucks. Better take a copy of the recipe with you!

Made this for a family picnic and it was good, looked pretty too, apples gave it a tangy flavor but think I might add a little lemon juice next time to get a little more tang to it. I used fresh red and green cabbage with carrots as I prefer fresh to bag so took a little more time. Everyone liked it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really liked this one...it was good and crunchy. I really liked this one...it was good and crunchy. I hate "soupy" coleslaw so I didn't add anything extra like milk...I made it just like the recipe said. Even my b/f liked it and he doesn't like coleslaw. It's not an every day side but it is good for a change.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT!!! I've made this recipe twice. Once with some ribs for the 4th of July and again on a camping trip. It's easy to make and delicious. We tried it the second time with grapes in addition to the apples. It was great! A big hit with everyone.

I added dried cranberries, and I substitured about 3 tablespoons raspberry jam for the honey. Because of the sweetness of the jam, I used Kraft mayonaise instead of Miracle Whip. This was winner at my last family cookout. Nothing was leftover!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this recipe in less than 10 minutes for a summer party. I made this recipe in less than 10 minutes for a summer party. It was delicious and I had to provide the recipe to many of the guests at the party. I used a Gala apple and it didn't turn brown. A very easy recipe to do and I'd make it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this coleslaw! I love this coleslaw! The apples are a nice change from regular coleslaw- it's easy and healthy too, yay. I usually don't go for green apples, but the red/green combo here is tasty and pretty (the green apples are my favorite part).
