Left out the green onions and used Kraft Sweet Honey Catalina instead of the Raspberry Vinagrette. It had a sweet but crisp taste all the way through. My husband was skeptical before trying it but liked it. At the very least he is willing to have it again.

I made this salad for the first time on Christmas Day, to go with our big family dinner. None of us had ever had it before, and when I put it on everyones plate, they were shocked to see walnuts, cranberries and apples in their salad. They absolutely LOVED IT!!! It was different, refreshing, and very tasty!! I will continue to make this salad, and not only on special occasions. Hey, it never hurts to shake it up a little!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SO GOOD! SO GOOD! I loved it. A great take on salad. I get tired of the iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and ranch. Wonderful! Will make again and again. You have to like sweet with your salad though. The sweet isn't overpowering though. I bought a bag of greens that included snap peas and broccoli and that added a bit as well. One of my favorites.

My version is with sunflower seeds, sliced peeld orange sections (or drained canned mandarin oranges), a sprinkle of feta cheese and a citrus dressing. A balsamic dressing will also bring the flavors out. People call long distance to find out if they have missed "the salad".

Quick recipe that looks as if it takes alot of effort. I did add as a garnish gorgonzola crumbles and blue cheese crumbles for people to add if they wanted - both tasted really good with this salad

I make this salad all the time for family functions or just a great tasting balanced meal for myself. Sometimes I add cooked diced chicken for added protein and substitute spinich for the mixed greens. I love the combo of apples, walnuts and dried cranberries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a wonderful twist on the standard green salad. This is a wonderful twist on the standard green salad. I served this as part of my Thanksgiving dinner, instead of a hot veggie and it was wonderful. Also, you can warm the cranberries and walnuts just before serving and then top your greens it. It's great.
