  • Mix flour, cereal, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl; set aside. Beat egg yolks, milk and 1 Tbsp. oil with wire whisk until well blended. Add to flour mixture; stir until well blended. Let stand 10 min.
  • Meanwhile, heat 1-1/2 inches oil in heavy saucepan or electric skillet to 375°F.
  • Beat egg whites on high speed with electric mixer until stiff peaks form; gently stir into batter. Drop by teaspoonfuls into hot oil; cook 3 to 5 min. or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Cool completely.

How to Separate Eggs

Pull apart cracked egg with thumb. Pour contents of egg from one half of shell to other, allowing egg white to run into bowl.

Jazz It Up

Dust fritters with powdered sugar just before serving.

    Tried Sunday morning! so good! added 2 peeled, cored, & diced golden delicious apples to a pot, let sweat on med-low heat for about 10 mins. I let the apples cool, and added after letting my batter rest, just before folding in egg whites. Awesome!! Of coarse I doubled the recipe for big eaters around here!
