A crumbly topping of crushed buttery crackers, brown sugar and cinnamon is sprinkled over apple slices and baked for a warm comforting dessert.

 RITZ Crackers, coarsely crushed (about 1 cup)
1/3
cup firmly packed brown sugar

tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4
cup (1/2 stick) margarine or butter, softened
2
lb. baking apples (about 6 medium), peeled, thinly sliced
2
tsp. lemon juice
1
cup vanilla low-fat yogurt

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Combine cracker crumbs, sugar and cinnamon in medium bowl. Add margarine; mix until well blended and crumbly.

PLACE apple slices in 9-inch pie plate; sprinkle with lemon juice. Top evenly with the crumb mixture.

BAKE 40 min. or until apples are tender and topping is browned. Serve warm topped with the yogurt.

Substitute thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping for the yogurt.
Apple Varieties
Look for apples that are firm and well colored with smooth, blemish-free skins. Choose the variety that best suits your needs. All-purpose apples for both eating raw and cooking uses include Cortland, Granny Smith, Jonathan, Fuji, Gravenstein, Empire, Jonagold, McIntosh, Pippin, Spy and Winesap. Best snacking and salad apples are Gala, Golden Delicious and Red Delicious. When cooking, use Rhode Island Greening, Rome Beauty or York Imperial.
