  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Toss bread cubes with apples and walnuts; place in lightly greased 13x9-inch baking pan.
  • Pour milk into large bowl. Add dry pudding mixes and 1 tsp. of the cinnamon. Beat with wire whisk 2 minutes. Pour over bread mixture; sprinkle with remaining 1 tsp. cinnamon.
  • Bake 50 minutes to 1 hour or until hot and bubbly. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Top with whipped topping just before serving.


Substitute raisins, dried cranberries or dried cherries for the walnuts.

    easy, but a little dry. Was better second day. Used French baguettes will try with Italian bread next time.

    I made a half batch and used half and half instead of milk. I thought it was a little dry, though delicious.

    I changed the recipe a little by not soaking the apples and putting them ontop of the pudding mixture before putting into the oven. I brushed melted butter on top and cooked as directed. It was more like a apple cobbler bread pudding. But the texture was perfect. The next I make this I will make a rum sauce for the top instead of Cool-Whip.
