Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really like Catalina dressing, and I enjoyed the different flavor it brought to the recipe. I really like Catalina dressing, and I enjoyed the different flavor it brought to the recipe. I didn't have any red pepper or green onions, so I substituted some frozen pepper/onion mix and peas when I added the asparagus, and tossed in some southwest seasoning for a little "heat." The next time I make it, I'll use all the right ingredients. I sliced the steak while it was still partially frozen, so instead of putting the dressing/soy sauce mixture into the wok first, I soaked the sliced steak in the mixture while I was waiting for my rice to cook.

Made it exactly as the directions say, but I found nothing 'spicy' about the sauce as the recipe claims. This was a good thing because my 2-year-old ate the beef. Quick, easy, but I wasn't totally sold on the catalina/soy cooking sauce. Maybe I'll try the Italian Dressing substitution next time, seems that would add a little tang that this was lacking. Catalina was almost a bit too sweet.

To save prep time I used fajita beef, used the soy sauce, but skipped the dressing, and the meat turned out very tender and flavorful - will definitely be making this one again - next time I think I'll try chicken fajita meat and broccoli.
