Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Heat grill to medium heat.
  • Place half the ribs in single layer on large sheet of heavy-duty foil. Combine sugar and seasonings; rub half evenly onto both sides of ribs. Bring up foil sides. Double fold top and one end to seal packet. Add 1/4 cup water to packet through open end. Double fold remaining end, leaving room for heat circulation inside. Repeat with remaining ribs to make second packet.
  • Grill 45 min. to 1 hour or until ribs are done. Remove ribs from foil; discard foil.
  • Return ribs to grill; brush with half the barbecue sauce. Grill 15 min., turning and brushing occasionally with remaining barbecue sauce.

Use Your Oven

Heat oven to 450°F. Assemble foil packets as directed; place on baking sheet. Bake 45 min. to 1 hour or until ribs are done. Remove ribs from foil; discard foil. Heat broiler. Place ribs on rack of broiler pan sprayed with cooking spray. Broil, 6 inches from heat, 10 min., turning and brushing frequently with barbecue sauce.

Substitute

Don't have heavy-duty foil? You can use a double layer of regular foil instead.

Substitute

Substitute 3 or 4 ice cubes to each foil packet instead of the water.

Substitute

Prepare using BULL'S-EYE Original Barbecue Sauce.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These ribs are the best! These ribs are the best! They were so tender and juicy...made a big hit for Memorial Day! Very easy. I put the seasonings on the ribs, in the foil for about 10 hours. When I was ready to grill I took the packs out of the fridge, opened up a corner and poured the water in. Not sure if it made a difference from the original recipe but the flavor was just outstanding! Thank you so-o-o much Kraft for this site...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is such an awesome and easy way to make ribs. This is such an awesome and easy way to make ribs. Although I made them in the Oven instead of on the grill. I have made it for my family and friends and they all LOVED it! It's the right amount of sweet from the BBQ sauce and spicy from the spices. And everyone commented that they loved how the meat comes right off of the bone! I highly recommend this recipe and will continue to use it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good but messy. Very good but messy. Definitely a BBq taste. Made it in the oven using the tips and techniques and definitely tasted like it was on the grill. I used the Aluminum bags instead of working the aluminum foil into pokets. Was much easier to just place the ribs in there with the spices and just adding water and folding. My family loved them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I don't eat ribs due to my diet but my husband loves them. I don't eat ribs due to my diet but my husband loves them. We can't seem to ever find ribs though that he likes because they have to much sauce when we go out to eat I made him a 1/2 slab so they didnt take as long as stated and I made them in the oven using 3 ice cubes and they turned out so moist. I will definetly make these again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! I usually tweek recipes but I made this exactly as the recipe called for and it turned out perfect. My husband has a weird love-hate relationship with meat so he's very selective on what he will eat. I asked him to rate this and he gave it 5 stars! This is my new bbq rib recipe for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We have made this recipe twice now. We have made this recipe twice now. Use 3 ice cubes per rib package. Don't use too much rub- the sugar will burn. Use the amount suggested. Grill rib package bone side facing heat/down. Wide heavy duty foil is perfect size to make rib package. So EASY! Better than any resturant!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've made this twice, both times a huge success. I've made this twice, both times a huge success. I did make one change. I felt that the garlic was a bit overpowering, so I reduced it to 1 tsp, and added 1 tsp of cumin to balance it out. It's so easy to make. This recipe has become a new family favorite!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very tasty! Very tasty!! I think next time I would steam them a little longer. The last 15 min. when you should take them out and baste them with sauce, I just crisped them up on the BBQ. I have some children that don't like sauce. The dry rub gave it a very good flavor.
