  • Cook bacon in large skillet until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet; drain on paper towels. Discard drippings from skillet. (Do not wash skillet.)
  • Place asparagus in microwaveable casserole or 10x4-inch dish. Add water. Microwave on HIGH 4 to 5 min. or until asparagus is crisp-tender. Meanwhile, add onions to skillet; cook and stir 5 min. or until tender. Stir in dressing.
  • Drain asparagus; top with sauce and crumbled bacon.

Trimming Fresh Asparagus

Asparagus spears snap off naturally where they are tough. Simply bend the spear near the bottom end and it will break off at the right point. Or, remove an inch or so of the "woody" portion off the bottom of the stalks with a sharp knife.

So this past Easter I made this recipe for them and the rest of the family. Thought what the heck I will try them. I liked them a lot and the kids ate them all up. Hardly anyone else could get a bite.

I grill my asparagus after tossing in a little olive oil and the sauce is outstanding. I even made this one time camping.
