I have made this recipe multiple times with Li'l Smokies (beef) and they are always gone in the blink of an eye! Be generous with the brown sugar, and use a toothpick to hold the bacon on the dogs. It probably would stay anyway, but people like the toothpick when they are trying to eat these. I have never used the pepper, but I think that would be a nice addition to the sweetness of the sugar and bacon. Also, try to use thick-cut bacon. I've used regular, and it's good, but there's a lot of fat and the fatty parts are hard to wrap. Good luck & definitely try it! :-)
