These are always a hit. Rather than dipping into the sugar, I just sprinkle the brown sugar on the prepared smokies. I find that much easier. I like another's suggestion of adding a little cayenne pepper.
These were a great hit. Used 1 package of oscar meyer smokies and a package and half of bacon. Cut bacon in 1/3's. Used toothpicks to hold bacon closed. They make it handy to dip in brown sugar to coat, and to use toothpicks to eat with after. Highly recommend using foil. May have to cook longer than recommended. Added a dash of cayenne (red) pepper for a kick.
Absolutely addictive! This has become a favorite at our Christmas Eve all-appetizer supper. They are always the first platter to be licked clean. Easy to put together ahead of time and then bake.
