Baked Cheese-Stuffing Casserole Recipe

What You Need

cups water

1

Tbsp. margarine or butter

1

pkg. (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Savory Herbs Stuffing Mix

1

egg, beaten

3/4

cup KRAFT Mexican Style Finely Shredded Four Cheese, divided

Make It

HEAT oven to 375°F.

BRING water and margarine to boil in large saucepan. Stir in stuffing mix; cover. Remove from heat; let stand 5 min.

STIR egg and 1/2 cup cheese into stuffing mixture until blended. Spoon into greased 9-inch pie plate. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.

BAKE 20 min. or until casserole is heated through and cheese is melted.

Special Extra

For a more rounded side dish, stir 1/2 cup cooked broccoli florets or chopped cooked mixed vegetables into stuffing mixture before spooning into pie plate.

Substitute

Prepare using KRAFT Mexican Style 2% Milk Finely Shredded Four Cheese.

I love this recipe....I found this receipe on another website years ago and lost it. You can add vegies or meat. I suggest substituting Chicken Broth for the water. The flavor is wonderful.

Made this stuffing casserole last night for dinner. It did not taste like stove top. It tasted home made. My husband stated that this was a keeper. Loved It.

I added chopped red and green bell peppers because we were having a Mexican night and everybody loved it. I will for sure make this again!

It was a good side dish. It doesn't need as much water as described. I would say 1 1/2 cups instead of 2. Also, needs seasoning. I would make it again.

This was very quick and tasty. I of course added a bit more seasoning than was in the recipe, but that is to be expected when using a recipe that is intended for the masses.
