When baking potatoes, oiling the skin before placing the potatoes in the oven will produce crisp-skinned baked potatoes. Or for baked potatoes with softer skins, wrap the potatoes in foil before baking.
Use Your Microwave
To cook the potatoes in the microwave, pierce them with a fork, them microwave, 3 potatoes at a time, on HIGH 10 to 15 min. or until tender. Gently squeeze the potatoes with a pot holder or kitchen towel to test for doneness. Potatoes should give slightly to the pressure. Let potatoes stand in the closed microwave for 5 min. before removing from the microwave.
