BAKER'S 225th Anniversary Fudge Icing

This frosting was wonderful. I usually make buttercream frosting, but this was a very nice change. You have to follow the directions for it to come out perfectly.

What You Need

cup packed dark brown sugar

3/4

cup whipping cream

1/2

cup half-and-half

oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, broken into pieces

Tbsp. butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces

Make It

BRING all ingredients except butter to boil in medium saucepan on medium heat, stirring frequently with wire whisk. Simmer on medium-low heat 20 min. or until thickened, stirring frequently. Remove from heat.

ADD butter gradually, stirring after each addition until butter is completely melted. Pour into 13x9-inch pan. Refrigerate 1 hour.

SPOON frosting into medium bowl; beat with mixer on high speed 1-1/2 min. or until light and fluffy.

Cooking Know-How

Recipe makes enough to frost tops and sides of 2 (8- or 9-inch) cake layers, top and sides of 13x9-inch cake or tops of 3 (8- or 9-inch) cake layers.

Note

If refrigerating frosting for more than 1 hour, let it stand at room temperature 20 min. before beating as directed.
