  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Line 13x9-inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides. Spray foil with cooking spray.
  • Microwave unsweetened chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted; stir until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in sugar. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add flour and flavored instant coffee; stir until well blended. Spread into prepared pan.
  • Bake 30 to 35 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. (Do not overbake.) Cool completely. Use foil handles to remove brownie from pan; cut into shapes with 1-1/2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter. (Reserve scraps for snacking or another use.) Melt semi-sweet chocolate as directed on package. Dip tops of brownie hearts in chocolate. Refrigerate until chocolate is firm.

Easy Cleanup

Lining the pan with foil makes cleanup a snap! Just mold the foil over bottom of pan, then pop the pre-formed foil into pan; fill with batter then continue as directed.

Note

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I was very disappointed. I was very disappointed. I made this exactly as the recipe states. I checked the brownies after 25 minutes of baking, and there was a pool of yellow butter grease bubbling on top of the brownies. It was the grossest thing I have ever seen. I was still hopeful after reading all the rave reviews, so I tried to cook them the full amount of time, and soaked up the grease with paper towels. I tried a bite of the brownie and had to spit it out. It was bitter and had the consistency of dirt in my mouth. YUCK!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great brownie mix! What a great brownie mix!! I don't know how much the mocha cafe influenced the taste, but they are pretty good. I took some to work and munched on them and the scraps at home for about a week-can't eat them all at once!!! Yes, they lasted that long and were in sealed bag and they stayed moist!!! I would like to make them for other holidays and maybe make them with white chocolate and maybe color the chocolate. Very good recipe.

I omitted the mocha mix and added some baking cocoa, which made them really rich and yummy! I also didn't top them with the chocolate, but used peanut butter frosting that I made. (Peanut butter, powdered sugar, butter, and a touch of milk) They are incredible! Definitely a great brownie recipe, and it can be used for just pan brownies too, without cutting them out. I recommend it!

I put half the batter in a small heart shaped pan, the other half in a square baking pan. Cut the square pan into hearts and drizzeled with white, smei- sweet and milk chocolate. They look so gourmet and taste sinful! I also dusted the top of the heart cake with powdered sugar. Sweet heart day treats for my family!

I made these for Valentines day for my husband, because he loves Mocha, they ended up being such a success, I made it into a layered cake, and made it for his birthday, his grandma loved it, so she asked me to make it for her birthday as well. The whole family loved it! What an awesome recipe! They are soooooo yummy!!!

I cook this for so many occasions, you can make it into a regular layer cake or other shapes to conform to any occasion and they are a big hit wherever and whoever eats them. I gaurantee they will be the biggest hit if the group is a bunch of mocha lovers.

I made only two changes, I changed the 1/2 cup GENERAL FOODS INTERNATIONAL for vanilla creme flavour and I melted the chcocolate before the butter as to not burn the butter. Great recipe, I will make it many more times.
