Would we be correct in assuming you've never seen chow mein noodles used like this? They provide the crispy structure for chocolate Easter baskets.

Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Microwave chocolate and butterscotch chips in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until chocolate is almost melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended. Add marshmallows; stir until melted. Add noodles; mix well.
  • Divide mixture among 12 custard cups, adding about 1/3 cup of the chocolate mixture to each cup. Press firmly onto bottom and up side of each cup to resemble a nest.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour or until set. Remove nests from cups just before serving; fill as desired.

Size Wise

You'll know it's a special occasion when you get to enjoy a serving of this chocolatey treat!

Variation

Instead of making 12 small nests, shape the chocolate mixture into 1 large nest on serving platter or tray. Fill as desired.

Fun Idea

Fill nests with JELL-O Pudding Eggs, jelly beans or Easter candies just before serving.

Ratings & Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This recipe did not work at all. This recipe did not work at all. When I added to marshmallows to the melted chocolate mixture it made it way to think and did not coat the chow mein noodles at all. I see that others got this recipe to work and am very interested in how they were able to do it. Mine do not look AT ALL like the picture. If anyone was able to coat the noodles so they looked like the ones in the picture please comment on how you did this. Thanks!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was a very easy Easter treat and table decoration to make. This was a very easy Easter treat and table decoration to make. I have grown children and I made larger nest for the table settings and gave the extras to two of their adult friends as well. They all loved them. It also added a neat touch to our place settings. I had them sitting on deep blue saucers with colorful jelly beans and foil covered chocolate eggs in them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The idea was fun and it was easy to make the nests. The idea was fun and it was easy to make the nests. The picture is a little deceiving because you'd never get 12 of them from one recipe to fit the size eggs pictured. If I made them again, I wouldn't use the butterscotch chips, I'd substitute with something else. They (the nests) had a wierd taste to them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I tried this recipe twice and both times it did not turn out! I tried this recipe twice and both times it did not turn out! It does turn out looking anything like the picture. You can't cook the chocolate as long as the recipe calls, it gets hard and won't mold to the noodles. I would not recommend this recipe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great taste. Great taste. I had trouble making little nest. After spraying cupcake pan with vegitable spray, I placed about 1/3 C for each opening and then refrigerated for 1 hr. Came out easily and turned out great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was SO easy and the kids loved it. This was SO easy and the kids loved it. Unfortunately, the kids had more self control than the adults. The adults picked at it until it was unrecognizable!
