What You Need

1-1/2

pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Bittersweet Chocolate, divided

3/4

cup butter or margarine

cup sugar

eggs

tsp. vanilla

1/3

cup flour

1/4

tsp. salt

1/2

cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

SPRAY 9-inch round pan with cooking spray; cover bottom with waxed paper.

MICROWAVE 4 oz. chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1-1/2 to 2 min. or until butter is melted, stirring after 1 min. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add sugar; mix well. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add flour and salt; mix well. Stir in nuts. Pour into prepared pan.

BAKE 40 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. (Do not overbake.) Cool in pan 10 min. Run small knife around side of pan to loosen edge. Invert torte onto wire rack; remove waxed paper. Cool torte completely. Melt remaining chocolate; drizzle over torte. Let stand 15 min. or until glaze is firm.

Very easy and quick to prepare. Most of the ingredients would be on hand for a last minute dessert. Rich and satisfying. Used walnuts, but that is the only change I made.

I made this for my parents and grandparents for dessert at my house, and they loved it and couldn't believe I made it myself. My mom and grandma made me email them the recipe! I also made it once for a church potluck, and by the time I got through the line, it was all gone. It doesn't always look the prettiest, so I like to sprinkle powdered sugar on top cause it covers up the ugly craters. Then, if you gently blow over the drizzled chocolate, the sugar comes off and leaves a pretty pattern.

One of my guests used the word "divine" to describe this! It is very easy to make. I only had almonds and walnuts on hand and I used both. I also drizzled white chocolate and chocolate on at the end for a better presentation. I will make this again!

I've made this several times n love it! It's a nice easy recipe n I have the stuff on hand most of the time.

I made this for a kid's Valentine party and again for my hubby on Valentine's Day. The first time I used the chocolate as an icing (covered the entire top) and put toasted coconut over that. The second time, I added ground espresso and covered the top with cocoa powder. It made it very different, but both were awesome! And... I used semi-sweet rather than bittesweet chocolate.

This was wonderful, very rich. Since I was making it as a birthday cake I spread the melted chocolate over the top rather than drizzling it and then I 'splatter painted' an ounce of melted white chocolate over that, the contrast made it look very special. I'm thinking of trying other flavorings next time: orange, almond, coffee....
