Rated 5 out of 5 by from This really is the BEST chocolate frosting recipe! This really is the BEST chocolate frosting recipe! I've used bittersweet and semisweet baking chocolate also, when I didn't have the unsweetened. All are delicious. I have found, however, that every time I make it, I need almost twice the milk called for. (Perhaps it is because I use half & half?) I have also added 1-1/2 tsp. espresso powder* on occasion and that too is delicious. This recipe is definitely a keeper! *Espresso powder is available on-line from baking supply sites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I followed the recipe the first time, the second time I used the stove. I followed the recipe the first time, the second time I used the stove. I melted the butter and chocolate, then added everything except powdered sugar. I let mixture boil about a minute then removed from stove, added powdered sugar, stirred until fudge-like and frosted a double layer cake and 'threw ' on some coconut. DELICIOUS!!!!
