After I started the recipe I realized whoever borrowed my layer pans did not return them. I made this as a 13x9 cake. Actually I will do it again. The topping turned out perfect and it was super easy to serve. I was concerned because it seemed like a lot of cake, but no problem. It was GONE by bedtime. 'Just another little piece, Mom.' I loved it and have made it again several times. My 98 year old friend suggested eat dessert first.

I did not have any sour cream, or plain yogurt to substitute for it so I just made the cake mix as directed on the box. The # of eggs was the same and the oil was just increaed to 1/3 cup. Every other step was as directed. It was delicious. I made it for my husband's birthday cake (per his request). Very pleased w/ the results and definately will make again.
