This was easy and yummy. It reminded me of my mom's famous banana pudding, but a lot easier to make.

What You Need

pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O French Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding

cup cold milk

cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, divided

NILLA Wafers, divided

small bananas

maraschino cherries

Make It

BEAT pudding mix and milk in large bowl with whisk 2 min. Stir in 1-1/2 cups COOL WHIP; spread into 8-inch square pan. Freeze 3 hours or until firm enough to scoop.

CHOP 16 wafers. Spoon scant tablespoonful of the chopped wafers into each of 8 parfait glasses or dessert dishes. Scoop 1/4 cup of the pudding mixture into each glass; sprinkle with remaining chopped wafers.

CUT bananas lengthwise in half, then cut each piece crosswise in half. Stand 1 banana piece in each parfait glass. Fill with remaining COOL WHIP and wafers; top with cherries. Serve immediately.

We also topped with strawberries, blueberries, and walnuts. It was a really great alternative to ice cream!

WOW! This is an easy recipe that gives a specialness to family deserts and with part of the recipe made in advance would be great for entertaining. I can see so many variations to this that deserts will never will dull again. Would have never thought to freeze the pudding. What an idea. Thanks, Kraft Foods.

this recipe is a classic and it is always a plus with out family and so easy to make you could try to use condensed milk also give such a sweet flavor delicious

It was easy - this kids helped me. I put the wafers in a bag and took my rolling pin and crushed them - not real fine, but into small chucks - VERY GOOD

This yummy dessert tasted just like a banana split but healthier! I think this would be good with chocolate pudding too.
