  • Heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Beat sugar and margarine in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add egg product and vanilla; mix well. Stir in bananas.
  • Mix flour, cereal and baking powder. Add to banana mixture; stir just until moistened. Pour into greased and floured 8x4-inch loaf pan; sprinkle with Chocolate Chip Streusel.
  • Bake 50 min. to 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 min. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack.

Powdered Sugar Glaze

Drizzle with a quick powdered sugar glaze, if desired. Just mix 1 cup powdered sugar with 1 Tbsp. milk or water. If necessary, stir in additional 1 Tbsp. milk until glaze is of desired consistency. Drizzle over cooled bread.

Storage Know-How

Peel, mash and freeze extra overripe bananas in 1-cup portions in airtight containers. Thaw and use later in baked goods.

    I made this recipe in hopes of having a super moist & yummy banana bread---no luck here. I found it to be too dense, too dry and not enough banana flavor (even after I put in an additional banana). People in my family thought it was okay once they toasted & buttered it. Won't make this banana bread but will try the chocolate chip streusel on another recipe.
