Barbecue-Bacon Party Spread

I couldn't imagine spreading straight cream cheese on my platter so I mixed a little of the BBQ sauce with it first. Bittersweet results - spread easily, tasted great, looked horrid. My tweak aside, it isn't nearly as pretty as the Kraft photo so a 'what-the-heck-is-that' name card on the dish would definitely help ease guests' hesitancy! Now the taste is fabulous, bbq bacon with crisp peppers and creamy cheese. I loved the flavor combination and I will surely make again, verbatim instructions this time!

I started making this in Fall 2011 after finding it on the Kraft website. Since then I have made it many, many times because it is incredibly delicious and such a crowd pleaser!! It is so fun to watch people try it for the first time and see the look on their faces when they realize it is not a Mexican spread. :) Never have any leftovers! It is also so portable for things like tailgating at football games. Enjoy!

This was good, but the cream cheese stuck to the platter. Maybe something more needs mixed in with the cream cheese to keep it creamy, maybe some sour cream.

This recipe is delicious! I have made this several times and tried using chopped carrots, celery, white onions, sweet peas and radishes. Its always been a huge success and many people request the recipe.
