My granddaughter and I made these for her birthday pool party. We had the most fun decorating. We used small round pretzel m & m's for beachballs and striped gum pieces for beach blankets. This is an excellent idea to do with the kids!
This is a simple, wonderful idea for any type of tropical themed or pool party. Everyone commented on the adorable cupcakes! Thanks for sharing this great idea!!
I loved the beach idea with the teddy grahams and little umbrellas, so I tweaked it. First off I used the cake mix with the little cherries in it so it wasn't just white cake. Then, I put all the cupcakes together and iced half of them blue for water and the other half white. Then I coverd the white with the graham cracker crumbs. It looked like one big cake. Each cupcake got a bear and fruit snack on it since I used the fruit roll-ups as beach towels with paper umbrellas and I got gummy savers and made inner tubes for some of the teddy grahams to float in in the water. The graham crumbs got a little soggy from the icing, but it still looked and tasted great!
