I added extra chicken broth so it would not be dry, & for extra flavor added extra Catalina dressing & extra soy sauce. Also added some garlic powder like the tips section suggests.

When steak went on sale at the local grocery store, I took the opportunity to make this recipe. I wasn't sure about using Catalina salad dressing in a stir-fry but it turned out great! I did double the sauce ingredients, omit the oranges (my family doesn't like them in savory dishes), omitted the green onions (picky eaters again), and used the tip of adding garlic powder and ground ginger. Definitely be seeing this dish again when the store has a sale!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I made this recipe in my Wok, which was my first mistake. I made this recipe in my Wok, which was my first mistake. The rice was not submerged in the liquid, so it didn't get done. I added 2 more cups of chicken broth and some more soy sauce and salad dressing, and added about 30 minutes cook time, but it still didn't get done. If I were to make it again, I would make the rice separately and add to the stir fried meat and veggies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beef/chicken-Fried Rice I substituted chicken for beef. I cooked up brown rice ahead, and mixed in frozen peas. 1 egg scrambled added to this mixture. I used chicken, cut up, and cooked with the onions and garlic. Combined all of the liquids and added to chicken mixture. Added all to rice mixture, along with man oranges. MW or baked until heated through. Tasty.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This was okay. This was okay. I used 1 lb of ground turkey instead of the steak. It was okay. When I tried to bring it up to a boil, it was really dry. I added more soy sauce and the dressing. The final product was still dry to me. I will try again and just use a whole can of chicken broth instead.

The family loved this dish- even the 14 year old who hates everything ate 2 big plates of it. I cooked the beef in the drained orange juice instead of the oil and added garlic as suggested. I always have to double recipes as there are 7 of us and it still turned out very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this was fabulous! this was fabulous! I did some minor substitutions, but it was very good. I didn't add the mandarin oranges, but instead used some Asian citrus seasoning and instead of chicken broth, I used beef broth. I also added a 1/2 tsp of garlic powder. Wonderful!
