  • Cook rice as directed on package, omitting salt.
  • Meanwhile, mix soy sauce, dressing and ginger until blended; set aside. Toss meat with cornstarch; cook and stir in large nonstick skillet sprayed with cooking spray on medium-high heat 3 min. or until done. Add vegetables and soy sauce mixture; cook and stir 3 min. or until sauce is thickened and vegetables are heated through.
  • Spoon over rice; top with nuts.

Substitute

Substitute 4 tsp. flour for the 2 tsp. cornstarch.

Substitute

Substitute 1-1/2 tsp. minced fresh gingerroot for the ground ginger.

Sweet-Heat Version

Add 2 Tbsp. orange marmalade and 1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper to the soy sauce mixture before using as directed.

It's a great quick meal in a pinch when there's not enough time to shop for fresh ingredients or use special appliances just for rice (I used regular rice - didn't have minute rice on hand). There's lots of flexability to use whatever veggies you happen to have on hand (or what ever your family will actually eat!!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT RECIPE and very tasty. GREAT RECIPE and very tasty. I followed the recipe but doubled the batch. My only mistake was to try to coat the meat instead of just a quick toss in the corn starch. Other than that, the recipe was great and would definitely make it again. I just did something different with the rice as brown rice is very tasteless to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this recipe is the bomb! this recipe is the bomb!! I used round steak and also doubled the recipe. I found that there still wasn't enough sauce to cover the rice, so, I made an extra batch...worked perfectly! It's so easy and fast!! It also tastes great! My 2 yr old had a tough time chewing the steak, next time I'm making this with chicken!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved this recipe. I loved this recipe. It felt like I had gotten Chinese take out and the peanuts were an unexpected but tasty add in. I had a hard time finding a small flank steak though and used a thin "breakfast" steak instead. It woked well but had just a few grissle areas I just cut out. It was still very good!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy and very good! So easy and very good! I sauteed some garlic before putting the flank steak in the pan and that made it even better. The stir-fry veggies I bought didn't have any peppers in them, so I cut up half a red and half a yellow bell pepper to add in as well. I will definitely be making this again!

I took a chance and even made it for my in-laws who were visiting. They couldn't stop raving about it, and my mother-in-law wants me to forward on the recipe. This is also going into my do-over file box !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this one! Loved this one! The sauce was delicious and the meat was nice and tender. I doubled the sauce, thanks to another comment I had read and was glad I did. My husband ate brown rice twice in one week and didn't even know it! (I made 3 step greek chicken and rice earlier in the same week.)
