Best-Ever Cheeseburgers Recipe

What You Need

1

lb. extra-lean ground beef

1/3

cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce, divided

4

large onion slices (1/4 inch thick)

4

KRAFT 2% Milk Singles

4

whole wheat hamburger buns

1

tomato, cut into 4 slices

Make It

HEAT grill to medium-high heat.

MIX meat and 2 Tbsp. barbecue sauce; shape into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties. Brush onions with 1 Tbsp. of the remaining barbecue sauce.

GRILL patties and onions 4 min. on each side or until burgers are done (160ºF) and onions are crisp-tender, brushing burgers with remaining barbecue sauce and topping with the 2% Milk Singles for the last minute. Meanwhile, grill buns, cut-sides down, 1 min. or until lightly toasted.

FILL buns with burgers, onions and tomatoes.

Substitute

Prepare using red onion slices.

Special Extra

For spicier burgers, add 1-1/2 tsp. chili powder to the meat mixture before shaping into patties.

Amazing what a little bbq sauce (I used Kraft honey bbq sauce) can do to a burger! Loved the flavor of bbq sauce & cheese. My husband loved this & isn't normally a burger eater. My one complaint is that the burgers crumbled when I took them off the grill - maybe the bbq sauce made them too moist? Not a big deal to me, but the kiddos didn't like that they were messy.

These turned out phenominal! My super-picky family ate every bite. I added a bit of pepper and minced onions....SUPERB!

Best Ever? Hardly. There was nothing BEST about these cheeseburgers - to us, it was just basic. I was expecting to be bowled over by the taste (I mean, the name does imply some 'wow' factor), but it really was just a regular 'ol cheeseburger. Not horrible, but certainly not BEST EVER.

They were a little bland with just the BBQ sauce so I added some salt and pepper and they were great!

Great idea to use whole wheat buns :) I added lettuce to mine and left the veggies off my husbands. I completed the meal with unfried french fries.

We liked these a lot. We skipped the onion because we like a little onion but this asked for a lot of onion. I would definitely make this again.
