How to Toast Nuts

Toasting nuts adds crunch and intensifies their flavor. To toast nuts in the oven, spread nuts in single layer in shallow baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 min. or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. To toast nuts on the stovetop, place nuts in ungreased skillet. Cook on medium heat until golden brown, stirring frequently. To toast nuts in the microwave, place up to 1 cup of nuts in a microwaveable shallow dish. Microwave on HIGH until fragrant and crisp, stirring every 30 sec.

How to Store

Keep refrigerated.

Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good. Very good. Makes quite a lot in a 15x10 pan. The icing is so unusual I almost didn't make the recipie but it turned out beautifully. It also cuts nicely. I cut them into small bites and served on a plate as finger food. Everyone referred to it as a brownie, but no matter what you call it it's good. Next time I will try PB chips or mini choc chips in the cake. This is a keeper!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes it is not Texas Chocolate cake without the cinnamon! Yes it is not Texas Chocolate cake without the cinnamon! And.... Store bought icing is just not right. The icing generally is created on the stovetop, then poured in the cake. It cools and is smooth and shiny! You gotta make the real thing to call it Texas Chocolate Cake!!!

It may be good on it's own, but is not close to the original in most respects.
