A serving of this sweet treat goes a long way on chocolate flavor.
Toasting nuts adds crunch and intensifies their flavor. To toast nuts in the oven, spread nuts in single layer in shallow baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 min. or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. To toast nuts on the stovetop, place nuts in ungreased skillet. Cook on medium heat until golden brown, stirring frequently. To toast nuts in the microwave, place up to 1 cup of nuts in a microwaveable shallow dish. Microwave on HIGH until fragrant and crisp, stirring every 30 sec.

Change the name of this cake so as to not invite comparisons with the original iconic Texas Sheet Cake.. Anyone searching for "Texas sheet cake" should skip this one. It may be good on it's own, but is not close to the original in most respects.
Yes it is not Texas Chocolate cake without the cinnamon! And.... Store bought icing is just not right. The icing generally is created on the stovetop, then poured in the cake. It cools and is smooth and shiny! You gotta make the real thing to call it Texas Chocolate Cake!!!
This was wonderful, everyone loved it
