  • Heat grill to medium heat.
  • Cook and stir onions and garlic in margarine in medium skillet on medium heat 5 min. or until tender but not browned; stir in sugar. Simmer on low heat 10 min., stirring occasionally.
  • Meanwhile, shape meat into 6 patties. Grill 5 min. on each side or until done (160°F).
  • Stir steak sauce into onion mixture. Fill rolls with lettuce, onion mixture and burgers.

Serving Suggestion

For added color and texture, serve with a mixed green salad tossed with your favorite KRAFT Light Dressing.

I made the sauce with worcestershire sauce instead of A1 and I let it simmer for a while so it reduces down and gets thicker. Then I mix it into the burgers before cooking them instead of using it as a topping. My family all loves these and have now become my "signature" burger.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't like the sauce at all. Didn't like the sauce at all. Husband did - but he is not writing the review!! :) I don't like the sugary taste the sauce left, the combination of the ingredients was too weird for me.
