How to Make Lettuce Bowl Layers
Place a whole head of iceberg lettuce, core-side up, on cutting board. Cut a 1-1/4-inch-thick slice off right side of lettuce. Then, cut a second slice off left side. Remove the center of each slice, leaving a bowl-shaped layer of 4 or 5 tightly nestled leaves. Place remaining lettuce in resealable bag or airtight container and refrigerate for another use.
