  • Place ribs on large sheet heavy-duty foil. Mix sugar and bourbon; spread over ribs. Wrap ribs in foil. Refrigerate 1 hour.
  • Heat charcoal grill to medium heat. Arrange coals evenly on each side of charcoal grate. Place wrapped ribs in center of grate; cover with lid. Grill ribs 2 hours.
  • Remove ribs from foil; discard foil. Place ribs, meat-sides down, on grill. Brush with 1/4 cup barbecue sauce. Grill 10 min., turning after 5 min. and brushing with remaining barbecue sauce.

Bake wrapped ribs in 350ºF oven 1 hour. Unwrap and grill for the last 10 min. as directed.

    These were exceptional to a point. Easy to make, recipe is simple. The one downfall I found and those who tried them said the same thing, they needed a bit more flavor added to them. Next time I make them I will add a dry rub. They just lacked that little extra something. Still a good recipe and worth the effort, just add a little something to the ribs.
