  • Microwave caramels and milk in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 to 1-1/2 min. or until caramels are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring after 1 min. Drizzle 1/2 cup of the caramel sauce evenly onto bottom of crust. Reserve remaining caramel sauce for later use. Top with scoops of ice cream, spreading evenly. Freeze 3 hours.
  • Meanwhile, cook apples in butter and sugar in large skillet on medium heat 5 min. or until apples are tender, stirring frequently. Cool completely.
  • Spoon apples over ice cream; drizzle with reserved caramel sauce. Sprinkle with nuts. Freeze 4 hours or overnight. Remove from freezer 10 min. before serving.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is VERY good! This is VERY good! It's not too rich or heavy, and was great after a very heavy meal. We call it apple pie a la mode in reverse :) It can be a little sticky when serving, so I advise placing the pie pan on a larger serving plate/tray. Also, I used a ready-made graham cracker crust, so it was terribly easy. The leftovers are not as good as the first time around - the frozen apples are quite chilly on the teeth, but that didn't stop us!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tried 2 cut time and used canned fruit, yuck! Tried 2 cut time and used canned fruit, yuck! I also mistakenly picked up a grahm crust instead of a cookie crust, too hard! I am going to try this one again and make sure I follow it word 4 word. The kids liked it, but didnt like the canned fruit. I am a "semi-homemade" mom so they do notice the difference when I get a lil lazy!

I made two pies.. one crust was made following the crust instructions.. but it was very crumbly.. so the next batch I added a wee bit more margarine and it turned out well. Delicious but next time I will add a thicker crust 'cuz for my personal preferences, it's just too much ice cream!

We loved this so much that it will be replacing the traditional apple pie for Thanksgiving. It tastes best with the apples still warm. I also would suggest putting the apples on each slice as you cut it as opposed to topping the whole pie.
