  • Heat oven to 400°F.
  • Mix all ingredients except bacon.
  • Shape into loaf in 9x5-inch loaf pan; top with bacon.
  • Bake 45 min. or until done (160ºF). Let stand 5 min. before removing from pan and slicing to serve.

Serving Suggestion

Serve this cheesy entree with a mixed green salad and hot steamed vegetable, such as green beans.

Keeping it Safe

Cook meatloaf until instant-read thermometer inserted into center of loaf registers 160°F, or when center of loaf is no longer pink.

Special Extra

Prepare meatloaf as directed; cool, then slice. Wrap individual portions in foil. Label, date and place in freezer-weight resealable plastic bags. When ready to serve, unwrap and microwave until heated through (160°F).

Fun Idea

For an attractive presentation, arrange bacon slices in criss-cross pattern on top of meatloaf before baking.

Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was a very tasty dish. This was a very tasty dish. I was really surprised. Although, I did use mozzarella instead of cheddar. I also used turkey bacon instead. (Those were the only ingredients I had on hand.) Aside from overcooking it a bit. (due to a dark loaf pan) The flavor was excellent. (even the burnt part:) Bacon always adds such a great unexpected flavor. I really thought it was going to be a bit bland, but honestly it was anything but bland. I usually put more stuff in my meatloaf, but I guess sometimes less really is more. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My husband really liked this meatloaf. My husband really liked this meatloaf. I made a couple of changes, turkey instead of beef, added some onion, used Good Seasons Italian Dressing mix for the seasoning salt, used nonfat Kraft Grated Cheddar Cheese. It turned out pretty good, but I did not use the meat thermometer and I should of. I just let it bake for an hour and it was pretty dry, so next time I will definitely use the thermometer. My husband thought I should make it a little bigger add more turkey. I will probably tweak the recipe a little more, but we basically liked it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I decided not to use precooked packaged bacon. I decided not to use precooked packaged bacon. Instead I used raw bacon and cooked it my self. I also used bread crumbs that were seasoned because i felt it would add more flavor which it did. I added about 1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper to give it a kick. I read other reviews about the bacon burning and falling off if put on for the entire hour. So i decided to put the bacon on 30 mins in to the baking. this recipe was very good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was somewhat disappointed by this recipe. I was somewhat disappointed by this recipe. I mean tastewise it was ok enough and I liked having the cheese in it, but I've tried other meatloaf recipes that were better. Just thought I should warn you.. it claims that it's 6 servings, but I found that it's just barely even 4 servings. I used lean ground beef and it still shrunk quite a bit after cooking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was never a fan of meatloaf, but finally my boyfriend convinced me to make one for him. I was never a fan of meatloaf, but finally my boyfriend convinced me to make one for him. I came across this recipe and it was the best meatloaf I ever had! I actually loved this meatloaf, and so did my boyfriend. The next time I made it I substituted ground turkey for the ground beef, and it was met with equally great reviews!
