Two things: 1) I read every user review before I made this, and 2) my 5 star rating is for the recipe as I prepared it, not as written. Taking others' suggestions, I subbed a can of Rotel for the tomato, did not use the ketchup or green onions, seasoned the beef with a little garlic and onion powders, and added a can of cheese soup. FABULOUS! So much better than any Hamburger Helper. I am not proud to say I ate the entire thing myself. I will absolutely make this again, MY way.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This was an easy recipe to make. This was an easy recipe to make. It's not one of my particular favorites but my kids liked it so I'll probably make it occasionally. I don't consider it a very healthy meal because of the Velveeta so it won't be something I make on a regular basis. I left out the ketchup and the tomatoes and substituted dried onions for the green onions. My kids don't eat tomatoes and I didn't want them turning their noses up at it. My son, who is the pickiest eater on the planet, has asked me to make this again and he normally hates mac & cheese.

Those of you who think this recipe is bad probably did not make it properly or season it well. I made this meal today. I omitted the tomatoes and scallions, used evaporated milk to make it creamier, and added a little bit of shredded cheddar with the Velvetta. It was good to me, but my kids loved it. I read another reviewers post about adding crumbled bacon on top and I decided to use it too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from this makes a quick and easy weekday meal. this makes a quick and easy weekday meal. It is great with ground turkey too. I have added brocolli, california mix, greenbeans, mushrooms or mixed vegetables to it . Seems to make vegetables more palitable to children when visiting. Also helps with children if you roll hamburger into small balls like meatballs and drop into water as the water heats and the pasta cooke the balls cook

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have read all of the reviews. I have read all of the reviews. I do not care what anyone says, this is a great recipe. I left out the onions and the tomotoes because, I have a soon that have acid reflux. I also noticed that back in 2002 they had mustard as part of the recipe. I am not sure if I would have liked that. My 3 kids loved it and so do I. Next time I will add some broccoli and some more cheese.

This is a good recipe, I added a can of rotel tomatoes instead of chopped and I also added about a 1/2 of package of taco seasoning, which made it a whole lot better. But the next time i will leave out the tomatoes. I think it would be much better. Family loved it, i had nothing left.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was delicious! This was delicious! My husband said "I have no idea what this is, but its awesome!" I substituted BBQ sauce for the ketchup and added a de-seeded chipotle with a teaspoon of the adobo sauce to add some kick. I also added abit of cumin for a nice smokey flavor. Deffinatly a keeper.
