I easily doubled the recipe since there are 5 adults in our family and used a larger glass Pyrex baking dish. I took the advice of other reviewers by adding one can of creamed corn and chopped up the hotdogs into "coins" and just stirred them into the batter. As far as the cheese went, we topped it with freshly grated NY cheddar. This recipe is very simple and quick to make - perfect for picky eaters or children. It was good, but nothing amazing. 3.5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A VERY versatile recipe! A VERY versatile recipe! I cut four hot dogs lenghtwise, lengthwise again, then across so I had millions of little triangles and stirred them into the batter. This is good without anything else, but we ate it topped with chili and cheese. The next day, the leftovers were great with mustard and ketchup! You can eat this any way you'd eat a corndog, except maybe on a stick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made this for my boyfriends 3 kids-10,9,6. Made this for my boyfriends 3 kids-10,9,6. They ATE it UP! I ate it UP! Used beef hotdogs and followed the recommendations of others here. Used an 8 oz can of kernel corn, no milk, a 14 oz can of creamed corn, added about a cup of Kraft shredded cheddar cheese-with the Philly of course!-and cut up the hotdogs. Had to bake for 35 minutes but SO GOOD!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this recipe with some of the suggestions from the reviews. I made this recipe with some of the suggestions from the reviews. I cut up the hot dogs, used creamed corn, and added cheddar cheese into the mix. Next time I plan to skip the cheddar and add more american cheese. I made a double batch and my family devoured it. Even my very picky son ate three servings. He did not even notice the corn!

I made this recipe but as others suggested I cut up the hot dogs and mixed it in with the corn bread. I also added some cheese in with the cornbread mix and then some more on top. My husband had 3rds. This has now been added in the mix as a cheap and easy mid week meal. He asks for it if I don't make it for a few weeks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very tasty and simple. Very tasty and simple. Made it for my kids for lunch, figuring my husband would think it was too "simplified" for dinner. He came home from work and gobbled up the leftovers -- what little there were! Also -- I chopped the dogs and mixed them in and used cheddar cheese instead. Very good and easy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My kids really liked this recipe. My kids really liked this recipe. I spread the corn bread mix into an 8X11 dish and (like another rater suggested) added 8 whole hot dogs. I think I ended up baking for approximately 35 minutes and then added shredded cheddar on top and baked an additional 5 minutes.
