Rated 4 out of 5 by from This recipe was really pretty good. This recipe was really pretty good. I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10. What I really like about it, though, is that you can take it in a specific culinary direction. For example, I used the Italian tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and Italian seasoning, which gave it the Italian flair. Next time I think I'll make it with taco seasoning when browning the beef, can of diced green chiles (drained), taco cheese, and maybe some chili powder, which obviously gives it a Mexican feel. Either way, good, versatile meal...and filling!

My Mom used to make this for us when I was a kid, now my 15 year old son loves it just as much as I did. I sometimes add peas to give it a little color (also to get my son to eat some peas) and it works well. I also through in a small can of green chilis while the meat browns for some extra flavor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The first time I made this dish, it was way too watery and wasn't cheesy enough for our taste. The first time I made this dish, it was way too watery and wasn't cheesy enough for our taste. The second time I reduced the water to half a cup, added a can of cheddar cheese soup and a can of peas (I have also used corn). And with that combination, my husband and I definitely satisfied.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This recipe is good and super quick for busy weeknights. This recipe is good and super quick for busy weeknights. I only gave it 3 stars because it doesn't have a ton of flavor, kinda bland, but the family will eat it so it is worth keeping in rotation. I think a can of original rotel might actually give it the flavor it is lacking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is pretty good. This is pretty good. Another easy variation is to cook macaroni and cheese according to the box, meanwhile brown some ground beef and onion, then drain. Mix beef and onion mixture, and one can of cream of mushroom soup into mac and cheese. Heat through and then serve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe was so simple and so good. This recipe was so simple and so good. I believe adding more items takes away from the taste. A couple of time savers is great. Add mac and cheese right from the box to the ingredients in the frying pan and add cheese topping and let sit to melt. Worked great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I did a few changes ... I did a few changes ... I used half ground beef and half Italian sausage. Added 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning and 1/4 tsp minced garlic. This is an awesome simple meal! My 8 year old normally hates diced tomatoes in her Macaroni and Cheese and she asked for seconds!!!
