Make these but instead of wrapping as instructed, lay the hot dog in the center of the dough. Then make slices in the dough up to the edge of the hot dog, about 1/2" apart. Do this on both sides. Now bring the "mummy strips" over the hot dog, alternating sides. Bake as directed. It really looks like a mummy in a sarcophagus!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I tried to make this recipe twice ! I tried to make this recipe twice ! It might have just been me or my oven, but for some reason the rolls were just not cooking all the way through ! I even tried to leave them in alittle longer, and that still didn't work ! I was not very happy when i bit into my hot dog on a roll and got a mouthful of dough ! Ewww !!!!

Be careful with the amount of cheese used in each hot dog wrap, as it will overflow and stick to the pan. I usually need to cook longer than the recipe calls for in order that the buns are fully done. This recipe is great for picky eaters; even if they don't like to try new things one taste convinces them.

I took another cooks suggestion and cut the dough into strips and alternate them around the hot dog to look more like 'mummies'. Next time though I would not add the cheese as it completely melted onto the baking sheet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very kid friendly. Very kid friendly. Anything my kids will actually eat without complaining is great and even calling them "mummy dogs" made it more fun. I used reduced fat crescent rolls and they were still yummy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not just for kids! Not just for kids! My husband and I love these. I make these instead of hot dogs and they go twice as fast. I've also used large biscuits instead of the crescent rolls. Both taste great.
