Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was a very good recipe! This was a very good recipe! I added little pieces of brocolli in mine to make it more like Cheese and brocolli rice. I let it sit longer than 5 minutes because it was so runny. If you don't have time to let it sit for a while then I would add less water or more rice. I made this for our around the world day at my daughters preschool. I was in charge of the mexican table. I doubled the recipe for samples and by the end of the day it was all gone! Some kids even came back asking for seconds!! It was great!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I've made cheesy rice as a side dish for years. I've made cheesy rice as a side dish for years. As is, this dish is great to serve with spicy dishes because the mild taste of the rice doesn't compete with a spicy main dish. Cheesy rice is also a good basic recipe in which one can add additional ingredients to his or her preference. Many times I add whatever is on hand. Chopped vegetables, ham, or salsa. Just to name a few. Leftovers make a tasty quick lunch.

It does taste cheesy, but it's still pretty bland. Maybe a tiny bit of cayenne pepper or something just to give it a kick. It is super easy to make and my kids (ages 3 & 5) loved it. It's a great quick side of rice, but the recipe as is needs a little something. Maybe the fact that my kids loved it should be good enough. :-)

This was very good, however, it was a bit too cheesey for us and I doubled the recipe except the cheese (only added in the 8 slices called for). I would cut back on the cheese a bit. The next day, I reheated it with a bit of milk and butter, it was much better - taste wise and consistancy wise. I also added in a bit of Moroccan Pepper which made added a nice flavor.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I added less cheese, as I only had 5 pieces. I added less cheese, as I only had 5 pieces. It came out good and cheesy, without being too sticky. I also put broccoli in it, sort of a quick broccoli casserole. I added a bit of skim milk, to make it thinner the next day, plus an envelope of that new tuna in a pouch. It was great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My husband isn't fond of plain rice, so this was a great recipe. My husband isn't fond of plain rice, so this was a great recipe. He usually barely eats rice, and this time he got seconds! I got seconds too. It was very good, but sort of bland. Maybe some garlic salt would bring it to the next level? :]

Next time i think i will go easy on the cheese and add some spices and herbs. A good little trick is to also add some lemon and mix them together!
