Rated 4 out of 5 by from this was very good and I'm guessing people who said it was too thick or too cheesey, used too much... this was very good and I'm guessing people who said it was too thick or too cheesey, used too much velveeta. make sure you only use 8oz which is NOT an entire block of velveeta, it is only half. I did not use celery and I used full size raw shrimp. I cooked them with butter and old bay seasoning before cutting them small and adding them to the soup. I hope this is helpful, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious! Delicious! I increased the milk to 3 cups to reduce the intensity of the cheese flavor and it tasted just as good. I also added a can of diced clams (drain juice before adding to soup) along with the shrimp to add more texture to the soup. I will definitely keep this in my recipe box for future use!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Suprised by how good this recipe came out. Suprised by how good this recipe came out. I also cooked the shrimp with some butter and garlic beforehand and used a 16 oz bag rather then a 6. I used 2 and a half cups of milk and added garlic with the celery. My husband loved it, I will make this again!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I used half the block of velveeta as required by the recipe and it was too cheesy. I used half the block of velveeta as required by the recipe and it was too cheesy. It's like your just eating melted cheese. It was really gross. I suppose adding more milk would help watering it down. But I would just not bother with this recipe again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I doubled up the recipe and used 3 cups of milk. I doubled up the recipe and used 3 cups of milk. I omitted the wine and used 1 lb. of shrimp. This recipe wasn't what I expected, it had too much of the velveeta taste. I won't make this again.
