What You Need

pkg. (3.4 oz. each) JELL-O Cheesecake Flavor Instant Pudding

cups cold milk

tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided

1/2

cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

OREO Cookies, coarsely chopped

can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling

1/2

tsp. almond extract

1/3

cup PLANTERS Sliced Almonds, toasted

Make It

BEAT pudding mixes and milk in large bowl with whisk 2 min. Stir in 1 cup COOL WHIP and sour cream.

COVER bottom of 2-1/2-qt. bowl with cookies; top with pudding mixture. Mix cherry pie filling and extract; spoon over pudding mixture. Cover with remaining COOL WHIP.

REFRIGERATE 1 hour. Sprinkle with nuts just before serving.

I keep reading this recipe as mine is terrible. I couldn't find the larger pudding packages so I bought 7-1 ounce packages. Followed the recipe and after adding 2 more cups of milk the pudding is the consistency of pie crust. This ruined my Easter dessert. This is my first time rating a recipe because I am so curious that nobody else had this problem in reviews.

This dessert was beautiful but very rich. It did not go over very well at Thanksgiving(no 2nds)and some guests did not finish their portion. Lorraine- Tampa

I used a bigger bowl than i should have. The layers looked tiny. But other than that it was wonderful! It's a great dessert to make for people who are dessert-handicapped, such as myself.

Loved It!! Made it for our Family Christmas and everyone enjoyed it. My son just asked me to make it for him to take to a carry-in at work and my sister-in-law just emailed me asking for the recipe. Need I say more....

I made this for an event at work. After adding the cherry, I drizzeled chocolate syrup on it. On the top, I skipped the almonds, but crumbled more cookies over it and drizzled it with more chocolate. I called the "Chocolate Covered Cherry Cheesecake Trifle." It was gone in about 7 minutes.

This is just great but I added 1/4 cup minature choc. chips to the cherry pie filling and it tasted soo good. I also put it into a 9X13 pan so this way you don't eat too much at one time. I had none left over after my guest left. A must have. Toni Covington, LA

This is DELICOUSLY DECADENT! Love the taste combination of the chocolate, cherries with the almonds and especially the cheesecake texture! Yummy...! I think next time a make this, I will spread it into a 9" x 13" pan or use individual Parfait glasses instead of using the triffle bowl. I think this would be wonderful with Apple pie filling for a different flavor too!
