  • Drain liquid from cherries, reserving 1/2 cup of the liquid. Pour liquid into small saucepan.
  • Add sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt; mix well. Cook on medium heat until clear and thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in cherries; cool.
  • Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Great Substitute

Substitute almond extract for the cinnamon.

Special Extra

Spoon over cheesecake slices, scoops of vanilla ice cream or pound cake slices.
