  • Mix dressing, flour and milk in medium microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 3 to 4 min. or until thickened, stirring after 2 min.
  • Stir in all remaining ingredients except rice. Microwave on MEDIUM (50%) 10 min. or until heated through, stirring every 4 min.
  • Serve over rice.

Substitute

Prepare using your family's favorite frozen mixed vegetable medley.

Variation

To use your stove top to cook the sauce instead of the microwave, combine sauce ingredients in saucepan; cook on medium heat until heated through, stirring frequently.

    Chicken a la king is supposed to be bland. Maybe a touch more salt & pepper. Also serve with the soy sauce on the table. It was popular in the 60's and it tastes right on the money. If you spice it up much it is not really chicken a la king. Some sliced almonds would be in keeping with the traditional flavor.

    Everyone is complaining about how bland it is. Spice it up, people! I added some creole seasoning and used fresh chicken breast that I seasoned as well and we thought it was delicious!
