Rated 2 out of 5 by from I did not like the sauce for this at all. I did not like the sauce for this at all. The chicken was pretty good but I don't think it would have been if it wasn't for all of the spices I added to it myself. If you are looking for a Gyro that you can make at home don't use this receipe. For authentic Gyro sauce you are supposed to use Greek yogurt and mint... not sour cream and dill. It was edible but it is not the Gyro alternative I was looking for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from We liked this recipe, and it definitely has potential. We liked this recipe, and it definitely has potential. My husband loved the chicken! The pitas we had were dry, so I think a soft flatbread would be magnificent with this. Also, I could have done without the cucumbers in the sauce. Generally I like cucumbers, but their cold, juicy contrast did not mix well with the bread. I'll make some changes next time, and can see myself enjoying them more.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The jury is still out as to whether or not I'll make this again. The jury is still out as to whether or not I'll make this again. I opted to just grill some chicken breasts to nix the need to buy pre-packaged, pre-cooked chicken breast strips. Although that work-around reduced the overall expense of the recipe, it also added more work ... more work than a SAMich recipe deserved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was so delicious and easy to make! This was so delicious and easy to make! I didn't have any pita bread, so we used small tortillas. I served it with chopped tomatoes, shredded cabbage and crumbled feta cheese, and let everyone build their own sandwich. Some yellow rice on the side made it feel just like dinner at a Greek restaurant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have had the real sauce that goes on Gyros and am a bit spolied on it but over all pretty good. I have had the real sauce that goes on Gyros and am a bit spolied on it but over all pretty good. You do need to make the night before becuase it gives the sauce ingredients time to marry together. Get English cucumbers, that way you don't have to seed them. you can use dried dill it works great too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have now made this two times in the last few months. I have now made this two times in the last few months. I found it to be very refreshing and it actually a healthy choice for my family. I would recommend that you combine your sauce ingredients in your blender and let it sit overnight in the fridge; you will get the true Greek flavor the next day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very, very good and so easy too. Very, very good and so easy too. I might try putting the sauce through the blender next time to make the sauce not so chunky. But it was excellent. My kids are very picky and would not try the sauce so I put shreaded cheddar cheese on theirs and they ate it up. Will make again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was easy and very tasty! This was easy and very tasty! I made the cucumber sauce the night before. Next time, I will probably use fat free sour cream or plain yogurt just to cut down on some fat. I used a Greek marinade for the chicken and it was wonderful! I will make these again.
