This reminded me some of Alice Springs Chicken from Outback Steakhouse, but it needs some improvements to be as good as that. My 3 main commetns are:
1) I didn't get any flavor out of the ranch dressing as a marinade.
2) I think you could use any shredded cheddar on this, not just the specific one they suggested.
3) And I would definitely NOT use thighs on the bone again. It was too much work for this type of dish to fight with bone.
I would make this again but with the suggested changes.
